Removal (2.4L)

- Recover the refrigerant. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the compressor hose assembly to compressor bolt. Remove the compressor hose assembly from the compressor. Remove and discard the sealing washers.
- Remove the compressor hose assembly from the hose clip on the fan shroud. Lower the vehicle. Remove the hood close out filler panel. Reposition the cruise control module out of the way, if equipped.
- Disconnect the refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector. Remove the nut holding the compressor hose assembly to the condenser. Remove the compressor hose assembly from the condenser.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal. Remove the fitting nut for the compressor hose assembly to accumulator. Remove the compressor hose assembly from the accumulator. See Figure.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seals. Remove the compressor hose assembly from the vehicle.
