Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door (Chevrolet)  or Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door (Pontiac) .
  2. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door .
  3. Remove the inside door handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Inside .
  4. Remove the rear door lock screws.

  5. Remove the rear door outside handle. Refer to Door Handle Rod Adjustment - Front Outside .
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector to the power lock, if equipped.
  7. Remove the door lock.
  8. Remove the inside handle rod, and lock rod from the lock.
