Schematic Reference: Headlights/Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Schematics 
1 Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems

  • Turn ON the ignition switch, with the engine OFF.
  • Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
  • Ensure the parking brake is disengaged.
Does the DRL indicator illuminate?		 Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems Go to Step 3 
3 Are the daytime running lights illuminated? Go to Step 4  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems 
4 Replace the instrument cluster (IPC). Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Replacement (Chevrolet) or Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Replacement (Pontiac) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
Did you complete the repair?		 Go to Step 5  -
5 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?		 System OK Go to Step 3
