Removal Procedure

CAUTION: When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.
  1. Open and support the hood.
  2. Remove the support from the hood rod retaining clip (1).
  3. Use a small, flat-bladed tool to lift up the retainer clip (1).
  4. Use a small, flat-bladed tool to remove the hood hold open rod (2), by prying outward.

  5. Remove the hood hold open rod retainer bushing by pulling outward.
