Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

NOTE: When removing or installing the backup lamp switch, do not use an open end wrench. Use only a socket in order to avoid damage to the switch assembly.

Install the backup light switch, using pipe sealant GM P/N 1052080 or equivalent.
Tighten

Tighten the switch to 33 N.m (24 lb. ft).

Connect the backup lamp connector.
