Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the thermostat.
  2. Install the thermostat housing to water pump feed pipe. See Figure.
  3. Install the thermostat housing to water pump feed pipe bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the thermostat housing to water pump feed pipe bolt to 10 N.m (18 lb. in).

  4. If equipped with an automatic transmission, install the exhaust manifold. Refer to EXHAUST MANIFOLD INSTALLATION .
  5. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (L61) .
