Cylinder Head - Disassemble

Tools Required: 

• J 8062  Valve Spring Compressor
• J 36017  Valve Guide Seal Remover

1. Remove the coolant outlet.

2. Remove the O-ring.
3. Remove valve train components.

   Important:  Ensure that the valve train components are kept together and identified in order for proper re-installation in their original position.

4. Compress the valve spring, using the J 8062  .

5. Remove the valve keys.
6. Slowly release the J 8062  from the valve spring assembly.
7. Remove the valve retainer.
8. Remove the valve spring.
9. Remove the valve spring seat (exhaust only).

   NOTE: Do not damage the valve guide. Remove any burrs that have formed at the key groove by chamfering the valve stem with an oil stone or a file.
10. Remove the valve seal, using the J 36017  .
11. Remove the valve rotator (intake only).
12. Remove the valve.
13. Remove the remaining valves.
