Balance Shaft Housing Disassembly

  1. Remove the oil pump pick-up screen. Pry the screen out with a suitable tool.

  2. Loosen all of the housing bolts.
  3. Separate the balance shaft housings.
  4. Remove the balance shaft and gear sub-assemblies from the housing.

  5. Carefully remove the bearing halves from the housing. Do not scratch or gouge the housing.

  6. Remove the thrust plate bolts.
  7. Remove the thrust plate.
