Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear: Removal

NOTE:
Do not hammer on brake drum as damage to the bearing could result.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in TIRES AND WHEELS.
- Remove the brake drum. See BRAKE DRUM - 2002 or BRAKE DRUM - 2003 . Disconnect the rear ABS wheel speed sensor wire connector.
- For 2002, remove the hub and bearing assembly from the axle. The top rear attaching bolt and nut will not clear the brake shoe when removing the hub and bearing assembly. Partially remove the hub and bearing assembly prior to removing this bolt.
- For 2003, remove the hub and bearing assembly bolts. Remove the hub and bearing assembly from the axle.
