Strut Assembly Replacement: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in TIRES AND WHEELS.
  2. Scribe the strut to the knuckle. Refer to STRUT AND KNUCKLE SCRIBING in FRONT SUSPENSION SYSTEM . Remove the strut mount to body nut (1) in the trunk area. See Fig 1. Remove the strut bolts (3) from inside the fender well.
  3. Remove the strut knuckle bolts (5) and nuts (3) from the strut (1). See Fig 2. Remove the strut (1) from the vehicle.
