Park Brake Lever Assembly: Installation

  1. Install the park brake lever assembly into position. See Figure . Install the console attachment bracket.
  2. Install the transmission shift control assembly into position. See Figure
  3. Install the transmission shift control assembly mounting nuts. Tighten to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Install the park brake lever assembly rear mounting nut. Tighten to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Install the front park brake cable to the lever assembly. Ensure that the conduit end fitting is properly secured to the lever assembly. See Figure .
  6. Install the cable end to the lever reel assembly. Connect the electrical connector to the park brake warning lamp switch. See Figure .
  7. Restore the tension to the park brake cable system. See ENABLING PARK BRAKE CABLE AUTOMATIC ADJUSTER  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS.
