Removal (Front)

  1. Remove the console. Release the tension from the park brake cable system. See DISABLING PARK BRAKE CABLE AUTOMATIC ADJUSTER  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS.
  2. Remove the front park brake cable end from the lever reel assembly. Using the Parking Brake Cable Release Tool, release the cable conduit end fitting from the lever assembly. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Release the front cable end from the right cable connector. Disconnect the front cable conduit end fitting from the cable equalizer. See Figure .
  4. Release the front cable from the retaining strap along the left side of the axle. Remove the front cable guide retaining bolt.
  5. Release the front cable pass-thru grommet from the vehicle underbody. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Remove the rear seat cushion. Remove the left side carpet retainer. Reposition the carpet for access to the cable.
  7. Release the cable from the retaining clip on the floor pan. Remove the front cable from the vehicle.
