Master Cylinder: Installation

- Bench bleed the master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDER BENCH BLEEDING under BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM.
- Install the master cylinder to the vacuum brake booster. See Figure .
- Position the proportioning valve assembly bracket or the anti-lock brake modulator bracket, onto the brake booster studs.
- Install the master cylinder mounting nuts. Tighten to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Remove the caps from brake pipes. Connect the brake pipe fittings at the master cylinder. Tighten to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the electrical connector to the brake fluid level sensor. See Figure .
- Bleed the hydraulic brake system. See BLEEDING THE BRAKE SYSTEM .
