Removal (Front)

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Remove the tire and the wheel. Clean dirt, grease, and other foreign material from the hoses and brake pipe fitting.
  2. Use a backup wrench on the hose fitting, disconnect the brake pipe fitting from the brake hose, then cap or plug the brake pipe fitting end. Install a rubber cap or plug to the exposed brake pipe fitting end to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination. Remove the retaining clip from the front brake hose. Remove the brake hose-to-caliper bolt from the brake caliper.
  3. Remove the brake hose from the Brake caliper. Remove and discard the 2 copper brake hose gaskets. These gaskets may be stuck to the brake caliper and/or the brake hose end. Cap or plug the opening in the brake caliper and the brake hose to prevent fluid loss and contamination.
