Circuit Description

Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) monitors Electronic Frontal Sensor (EFS) for impact detection. SDM processes signal from EFS to further support air bag deployment. EFS is an input only device for SDM and does not trigger air bag deployment. When ignition switch is turned on, SDM performs continuous diagnostic tests on deployment loops to check for circuit continuity and shorts to ground or voltage.
