Ensure that fuel level is in same range as customer concern. For intermittent diagnosis, perform test procedures while wiggling related wiring and connectors. This can often cause malfunction to appear. See FUEL LEVEL SPECIFICATIONS  table in order to verify correct fuel level sensor readings. FUEL LEVEL SENSOR % parameters are available on scan tool in PCM EVAP data list.
