Removal & Installation
NOTE:
Work carefully around ABS sensor and wiring. Disconnect connectors as needed. Do not strike brake drum with hammer to remove; hub bearings may be damaged.
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel and brake drum. Bolts securing hub and bearing assembly. Disconnect wheel speed sensor. Suspend brake backing plate with wire so it will not be suspended by brakeline or ABS wiring when bolts are removed.
- Remove bolts securing hub and bearing assembly. Remove hub and bearing assembly. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS table.
NOTE:
Upper rear bolt will not clear brake shoe when removing hub and bearing assembly. It will be necessary to partially remove hub and bearing assembly to remove this bolt.
