Diagnostic Aids

Use FREEZE FRAME and/or FAILURE RECORDS data in scan tool in order to locate an intermittent condition. If DTC P0461 cannot be duplicated, information included in FREEZE FRAME and/or FAILURE RECORDS data may aid in determining number of miles since DTC was set. FAIL COUNTER and PASS COUNTER in scan tool can also aid in determining number of ignition cycles that diagnostic reported a pass and/or fail. Operate vehicle within same freeze frame conditions. This will isolate when DTC failed. If problem is not found, perform test procedure while wiggling related wiring and connectors. This can often cause malfunction to appear.
