Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
Remove the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to STEERING COLUMN TRIM COVERS - DISASSEMBLE - OFF VEHICLE .

NOTE: Do not use excessive force when removing the automatic transmission shift lock control from the steering column. Using excessive force may cause damage to the automatic transmission shift lock control and/or the steering column.
Remove the automatic transmission shift lock control from the steering column. Use a screwdriver to assist in the removal of the automatic transmission shift lock control from the steering column jacket assembly.
