Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Install the main shaft seal using J 39440.
  2. Lubricate the inside diameter of the seal. Use only DEXRON® III automatic transmission fluid.
  3. Install the propeller shaft. Refer to PROPELLER SHAFT REPLACEMENT - ONE PIECE .
  4. Inspect the transmission fluid level. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL INSPECTION .
  5. Add transmission fluid, if necessary.
