DTC P0410: Secondary Air Injection (Air) System: Description

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Secondary Air Injection (AIR) pump is used to reduce tail pipe emissions during start-up. Powertrain Control Module (PCM) supplies ground to AIR pump relay to energize AIR pump. PCM monitors Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) voltages to diagnose AIR system.

During the test, PCM activates AIR pump during closed loop operation. When AIR is activated, PCM monitors HO2S voltages and short term fuel trim values for both banks of the engine. If AIR system is operating properly, HO2S voltages should go low, and short term fuel trim should go high.
