Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

  1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .
  3. Pop the wire harness assembly (1) out of the wire harness strap (2).

  5. Remove the small wire harness straps from the wire harness assembly.
  6. Disconnect the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil connector.
  7. Remove the retaining ring (1) from the groove on the race and upper shaft assembly (2).

  8. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil (2).
