Stabilizer Shaft Replacement: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Firebird and 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Install the rear stabilizer shaft with the bend of the shaft facing down. The slit of the shaft insulator must face the rear of the vehicle.
  1. Install the stabilizer shaft insulator over the stabilizer shaft. Install the stabilizer shaft insulator clamp over the insulator. Place the stabilizer shaft rod bracket against rear axle.
  2. Install the stabilizer shaft insulator bolt (1) and clamp nuts (2). See Figure. Tighten the stabilizer shaft insulator clamp nuts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft). Install the stabilizer shaft link. See STABILIZER SHAFT LINK REPLACEMENT .
