Fuel System

  1. Inspect the operation of the fuel pump. The pump should turn ON for approximately 2 seconds when the ignition is turned ON. See FUEL PUMP CIRCUIT under FUEL SYSTEMS in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - 4.6L DEVILLE & SEVILLE.
  2. Inspect for correct fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS under FUEL SYSTEMS in BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES - 4.6L DEVILLE & SEVILLE article.
  3. Inspect the fuel injectors and related fuses. See FUEL INJECTOR COIL TEST , FUEL INJECTOR BALANCE TEST WITH SPECIAL TOOL or FUEL INJECTOR BALANCE TEST WITH TECH 2 under FUEL SYSTEMS in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - 4.6L DEVILLE & SEVILLE article.
