Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Firebird and 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Coat the valve lifters with lubricant, GM P/N 12345501, Canada P/N 992704, or equivalent prior to installation.
  2. Install the valve lifters.

  3. Install the valve lifter guide.
  4. Tighten the valve lifter guide bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the valve lifter guide bolts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

  5. Install the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement .
  6. Install the lower intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement - Lower .
