Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM .
  2. Remove the lower intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement - Lower .
  3. Remove the right exhaust manifold. Refer to EXHAUST MANIFOLD REPLACEMENT - RIGHT (3.8L) .
  4. Remove the valve rocker arms and the pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement .
  5. Remove the cylinder head bolts (1).

  6. Remove the right cylinder head (3).
  7. Remove the right cylinder head gasket (3).

  8. Disassemble the cylinder head. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD DISASSEMBLE .
