Removal & Installation (Monte Carlo)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove driver-side door trim panel. Remove water deflector shield. Loosen energy absorber pad top clip and pull away from outer door panel. Remove SIS mounting bolts. Slide SIS out from behind mounting bracket on door impact beam. See Fig 1. Disconnect SIS connector.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten SIS bolts specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
