Removal & Installation (Passenger-side)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove headlight switch. Remove instrument panel upper trim pad. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . Remove glove box door. Remove heater and A/C control panel. Remove radio assembly. Remove Daytime Running Light (DRL) module from air conditioning duct. Remove center console. See CENTER CONSOLE .
  3. Remove fuse block cover. Remove fuse block mounting bolt and reposition fuse block away from instrument panel. Remove turn signal flasher. Remove cable tie securing steering column wiring harness to air distribution duct. Remove star connector from instrument panel tie bar. Remove Data Link Connector (DLC) from tie bar. Disconnect stoplight switch connector. Remove hinge pillar trim.
  4. Remove instrument panel mounting nuts. Remove electrical connectors from studs. Remove instrument panel mounting bolts. Remove instrument panel.
  5. Remove upper and lower passenger-side air bag module bracket bolts. Remove bracket and passenger-side air bag module. Remove passenger-side air bag module from mounting bracket.
  6. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten passenger-side air bag module and air bag module bracket bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
