Removal (3.8L)

- Fuel pressure regulator is mounted to fuel rail. Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Remove fuel rail. See FUEL RAIL & INJECTORS . Clean any dirt from the fuel pressure regulator snap ring. See Figure .
- Remove the snap ring. Using a shop towel to catch any spilled fuel, lift and twist the fuel pressure regulator in order to remove the fuel pressure regulator from the fuel pressure regulator housing. Remove the pressure regulator small "O" ring. Remove the pressure regulator filter screen.
- Remove the pressure regulator large "O" ring. Remove the pressure regulator "O" ring back-up. Cover the fuel pressure regulator housing in order to prevent contamination from entering the fuel system.
