2-4 Servo: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Firebird and 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install new seals on the servo pistons and the servo cover. Install the 2-4 servo to the transmission. See Figure . Install the servo cover and O-ring seal. Tighten the bolt on the (J-29714-A) to compress the servo cover. See Figure . Install the servo cover retaining ring. Loosen the bolt on the (J-29714-A) to release tension on the servo cover. Remove the (J-29714-A) from the oil pan rail.
  2. Install the oil pan bolt below the 2-4 servo cover. Tighten the oil pan bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Raise the transmission. Install the catalytic converter heat shield. Install the transmission support.
  3. Remove the transmission jack. Install the torque arm to the transmission. See appropriate REAR article in SUSPENSION. Install the propeller shaft. See appropriate DRIVESHAFT & UNIVERSAL JOINTS article in DRIVE AXLES. Lower the vehicle. Fill the transmission to the proper level with DEXRON(R)-III transmission fluid. See CHECKING FLUID LEVELS  under LUBRICATION.
