Water Pump: Removal

  1. Drain the cooling system. See DRAINING & FILLING COOLING SYSTEM . Remove the accessory drive belt. See ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT .
  2. Remove the radiator inlet hose. See RADIATOR HOSES . Remove the fan shroud. See FAN SHROUD .
  3. Reposition the outlet hose clamp at the water outlet. Remove the outlet hose from the water outlet. Remove the drive belt tensioner pulley bolts and pulley from the water pump.
  4. Remove the throttle body heater outlet hose from the radiator. Remove the water pump bolts. See Figure. Remove the water pump. Remove the water pump gaskets. Clean and inspect the water pump.
