Water Pump: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Firebird and 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the water pump and gaskets to the engine block. See Figure. Install the water pump bolts. Tighten the water pump bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install the throttle body heater outlet hose to the radiator. Install the drive belt tensioner and bolts to the water pump. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install the outlet hose to the water outlet. Position the outlet hose clamp at the water outlet.
  4. Install the fan shroud. See FAN SHROUD . Install the inlet hose. See RADIATOR HOSES .
  5. Install the accessory drive belt. See ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT . Fill and bleed the cooling system. See DRAINING & FILLING COOLING SYSTEM .
