Removal (Left Side)

- Remove the fuel feed pipe. See ENGINE COMPARTMENT FUEL LINE REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve pipe from the rocker cover.
- Disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coils.
- Twist the spark plug wire boot 1/2 turn.
- Pull only on the boot in order to remove the wire from the ignition coil.
- Remove the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip. Disconnect the ignition coil wire harness main harness connector. See Figure.
- Remove the secondary Air Injection Reaction (AIR) pump hose from the AIR shut-off valve. See Figure. Separate the AIR pump hose, if necessary. Remove the AIR switch valve bracket nut. Remove the AIR shut-off valve vacuum harness from the shut-off valve. Loosen the AIR switch valve bracket bolt on the rear of the cylinder head. Slide the AIR switch valve bracket off of the bolt.
- Remove the AIR shut-off valve hose clamps and hose. Remove the AIR pipe bolts. Remove the AIR pipe (with check valve) and gasket from the left side exhaust manifold.
- Remove the ignition coil bracket studs from the rocker arm cover. Remove the ignition coil bracket from the rocker arm cover.
- Remove the valve rocker arm cover bolts. See Figure. Remove the valve rocker arm cover.
- Remove the gasket from the rocker cover. Discard the OLD gasket. Clean and inspect the rocker arm cover.
