Installation (Right Side)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Firebird and 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Lubricate the "O" ring seal of the NEW oil fill tube with clean engine oil. Insert the NEW oil fill tube into the rocker arm cover. Rotate the tube clockwise until locked in the proper position. Install the oil fill cap into the tube. Rotate the cap clockwise until locked in the proper position.
  2. Install a NEW gasket into the valve rocker lip. Install the valve rocker arm cover onto the cylinder head. See Figure. Install NEW rocker arm cover bolt grommets, if necessary. Install the rocker arm cover bolts. Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Apply Threadlock (GM P/N 12345382) to the threads of the bracket studs. Install the ignition coil bracket to the rocker arm cover. Install the ignition coil bracket studs to the rocker arm cover. Tighten the ignition coil bracket studs to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install the PCV valve pipe to the intake manifold, if necessary. Tighten the PCV valve pipe strap nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the PCV valve pipe to the rocker cover.
  5. Connect the ignition coil wire harness main harness connector. See Figure. Install the CPA clip. Install the spark plug wires to the ignition coils.
  6. Install a NEW AIR pipe gasket to the exhaust manifold. Install the AIR pipe (with check valve), and bolts. See Figure. Tighten the AIR pipe bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Connect the AIR pump hose to the check valve. Install the evaporator tube. See MANUAL A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS article in HVAC.
