Installation (Left Side)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Firebird and 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install a NEW rocker cover gasket into the valve rocker cover lip. Install the valve rocker arm cover onto the cylinder head. See Figure. Install NEW rocker arm cover bolt grommets, if necessary.
  2. Install the rocker arm cover bolts. Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS 
  3. Apply Threadlock (GM P/N 12345382) to the threads of the bracket studs. Install the ignition coil bracket to the rocker arm cover. Install the ignition coil bracket studs to the rocker arm cover. Tighten the ignition coil bracket studs to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install a NEW AIR pipe gasket to the left side exhaust manifold. Install the AIR pipe (with check valve), and bolts. See Figure. Tighten the AIR pipe bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install the AIR shut-off valve hose and clamps. Slide the AIR switch valve bracket behind the bolt. Tighten the AIR switch valve bracket bolt. Tighten the AIR switch valve bracket bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Install the AIR switch valve bracket nut. Tighten the AIR switch valve bracket nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Connect the AIR solenoid tube to the shut off valve.
  8. Install the AIR shut-off valve vacuum harness to the shut off valve. Connect the AIR pump hose to the AIR shut-off valve. Connect the AIR pump hoses together, if necessary.
  9. Connect the ignition coil wire harness main harness connector. Install the CPA clip.
  10. Install the spark plug wires to the ignitions coils. Install the PCV valve pipe to the left side rocker cover. Install the fuel feed pipe. See ENGINE COMPARTMENT FUEL LINE REPLACEMENT .
