Valley Cover: Removal

  1. Remove the intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD .
  2. Gently pry up the rubber grommets. Disconnect the knock sensor wire harness connectors. Remove the knock sensors. See Figure.
  3. Remove the engine valley cover bolts. Remove the engine valley cover and gasket. Discard the engine valley cover gasket.
  4. Remove the knock sensor oil seals from the cover. Clean and inspect the engine valley cover.
