Throttle Body: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Firebird and 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Partially drain the cooling system in order to remove the hoses at the throttle body. See DRAINING & FILLING COOLING SYSTEM .
  2. Disconnect the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor and the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor harness connectors. See Figure. Remove the air intake duct.
  3. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor and the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve harness connectors. See Figure. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the throttle body.
  4. Disconnect the cruise control cable at the throttle body lever. Disconnect the accelerator control cable at the throttle body lever.
  5. Disconnect the coolant hose from the throttle body. Disconnect the coolant hose from the radiator.
  6. Remove the throttle body attaching bolts. See Figure. Remove the throttle body and the gasket. Discard the gasket. Clean the gasket sealing surfaces.
