Removal & Installation: Radiator: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Firebird and 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Recover the air conditioning system. See MANUAL A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS article in HVAC.
  2. Drain the cooling system. See DRAINING & FILLING COOLING SYSTEM . Remove the radiator inlet hose. Remove the radiator outlet hose. See RADIATOR HOSES .
  3. Remove the evaporator tube bolt. See Fig 1. Remove the evaporator tube from the condenser.
  4. Remove the upper transmission oil cooler line from the radiator. Remove the fan shroud. See FAN SHROUD .
  5. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Remove the lower transmission oil cooler line from the radiator.
  6. Remove the condenser tube from the condenser. See Figure. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir hose from the radiator. Remove the condenser inlet line from the condenser.
  7. Remove the radiator and the condenser assembly from the vehicle. Remove the condenser from the radiator.
