Front Cover: Removal

  1. Remove the water pump. See WATER PUMP . Remove the crankshaft balancer. See CRANKSHAFT BALANCER .
  2. Remove the drive belt idler pulley bolt and pulley.
  3. Remove the oil pan-to-front cover bolts.
  4. Remove the front cover bolts. See Figure. Remove the front cover and gasket. Discard the front cover gasket.
  5. Clean and inspect the engine front cover.
