Removal & Installation

- Remove the park brake shoe. See Fig 1
. Move the brake lever back and forth in order to remove the following components:
- The tappet. See Fig 2 .
- The pushrod.
- The adjusting screw.
- The actuator lever.
- To install, push the park brake actuator lever into the housing. Apply chassis lubricant to the pushrod, tappet, and adjusting screw.
- Install the pushrod, tappet, and the adjusting screw. Install the park brake shoe.
CAUTION:
Check operation by pinching the tappet and adjusting screw together and moving the brake lever. One or both tappets must extend. With the tappets pinched together, the brake lever must feel firmly seated. You must not be able to pull out the lever.
