Removal (5.7L Engine)

  1. Recover the refrigerant. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Remove the A/C drive belt.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the A/C compressor hose assembly bolt. See Fig 1. Remove the A/C compressor hose assembly. Discard the sealing washers.
  3. Remove the transmission oil cooler pipes from the engine bracket, if necessary. See Fig 2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C compressor. Remove the A/C compressor bolts. See Fig 3. Remove the A/C compressor.
