Removal & Installation: Accumulator: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Firebird and 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. If accumulator is being replaced, drain and measure amount of refrigerant oil in old accumulator. Install the NEW O-ring. Install the accumulator to the bracket. Install the accumulator bracket bolt. Tighten the accumulator bracket bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the accumulator hose bracket nut to the strut tower. Tighten the accumulator hose bracket nut to specification.
  2. Install the accumulator bolt to the module. Tighten the accumulator bolt to specification. Install the A/C compressor hose assembly bolt to the accumulator. Tighten the A/C compressor hose assembly bolt to specification. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system.
