DTC B2823: Trip Odometer Reset Switch Circuit Low: Testing

- Perform instrument panel cluster system diagnostic system check. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If instrument panel cluster system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step.
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, observe TRIP RESET SWITCH parameter in INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER data list. If scan tool displays OFF, go to next step. If scan tool does not display OFF, go to step 4 .
- Press and release trip odometer reset switch. Using scan tool, observe TRIP RESET SWITCH parameter. If parameter changes state when reset switch is pressed, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS . If parameter does not change states, go to next step.
- Replace instrument panel cluster. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair, check system for normal operation.
