Sensing & Diagnostic Module (SDM): Removal

  1. Before proceeding, See AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
  2. SDM is located behind lower center instrument panel. Remove accessory trim plate. Remove heater and A-C control panel. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip from Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) connector and disconnect SDM harness connector from SDM.
  3. Remove mounting bolts and remove SDM from instrument panel center support. See Figure .
