Steering Wheel: Removal

  1. Before proceeding, See AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove driver-side air bag module. See AIR BAG MODULES . Scribe mark on steering shaft and steering wheel to ensure proper alignment during installation. Remove steering wheel nut. Using Steering Wheel Puller (J-1859-A), remove steering wheel. Ensure wiring is not damaged during steering wheel removal.
