Diagnostic Aids
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Chevrolet Corvette. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
When a malfunction (such as an open fuse to a module) occurs while modules are communicating, a lost communication DTC will set as current. When modules stop communicating (ignition OFF), current lost communication DTC will be cleared but history DTC will remain. When modules begin to communicate again, the module with open fuse will not be learned by other modules so DTC U1000 or U1255 will be set as current by other modules. If malfunction occurs when modules are not communicating, only DTC U1000 or U1255 will set.
