Test 7: Lumbar Inoperative (Driver's Seat)

- If no additional symptoms are present, go to next step. If additional symptoms are present, repair other symptoms first. See SYMPTOM INDEX table.
- Disconnect driver's power seat switch connector. Connect test light between ground and power seat switch connector terminal No. 20 (Orange wire). See Figure . If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, go to step 4 .
- Repair open in Orange wire between instrument panel electrical center and driver's power seat switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repairs, go to step 14 .
- Disconnect driver's lumbar pump connector C2. Connect test light between ground and driver's lumbar pump connector C2 terminal "K" (Orange wire). If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, go to step 6 .
- Repair open or high resistance in Orange wire between instrument panel electrical center and driver's lumbar pump. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repairs, go to step 14 .
- Using DVOM, check for continuity between ground and driver's lumbar pump connector C2 terminal "A" (Black wire). If continuity is not indicated, go to next step. If continuity is indicated, go to step 8 .
- Repair open or high resistance in Black wire between ground and driver's lumbar pump. After repairs, go to step 14 .
- Reconnect driver's power seat switch connector. Connect test light between ground and following driver's lumbar pump connector C2 terminals while pressing driver's lumbar switch in corresponding position. See LUMBAR TEST
table. If test light does not come on at corresponding terminal when switch is pressed, go to next step. If test light comes on at corresponding terminal when switch is pressed, go to step 12
.DRIVER'S SEAT LUMBAR TEST

If continuity is not indicated, go to next step. If continuity is indicated, go to step 11 .
- Repair open or high resistance in inoperative circuit between power seat switch and driver's lumbar pump. After repairs, go to step 14 .
- Replace driver's power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 14 .
- Check driver's lumbar pump, lines and components for damage. If inoperable or damaged components are found, repair or replace lumbar components, air bladders or air lines as necessary. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . After repairs, go to step 14 . If components are okay, go to next step.
- Replace driver's lumbar pump. See LUMBAR PUMP/SEAT CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
- Recheck power seat operation. If power seat operates normally, repair is complete. If power seat does not operate normally, go to step 2 .
