DTC B2182: Seat Rear Up Switch Shorted To Ground

- If power seats diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If power seats diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to POWER SEATS DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Select Seat Control Module (SCM) input display. Monitor SEAT REAR UP SWITCH status on scan tool. If scan tool indicates SEAT REAR UP SWITCH status as ACTIVE, go to next step. If scan tool does not indicate SEAT REAR UP SWITCH status as ACTIVE, go to step 7 .
- Disconnect power seat switch connector. Monitor SEAT REAR UP SWITCH status on scan tool. If scan tool indicates SEAT REAR UP SWITCH status as ACTIVE, go to next step. If scan tool does not indicate SEAT REAR UP SWITCH status as ACTIVE, go to step 5 .
- Check for short to ground in Yellow wire between SCM and power seat switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If problem is found, repair as necessary and go to step 9 . If circuit is okay, go to step 6 .
- Replace power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 9 .
- Replace SCM. See LUMBAR PUMP/SEAT CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 9 .
- Check rear seat up switch circuits for intermittents. If problem is found, repair as necessary and go to step 9 . If circuits are okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Reconnect all disconnected components. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear all DTCs. Wait 2 seconds. If DTC B2182 sets, go to step 6 . If DTC B2182 does not set, system is okay.
- Turn ignition off. Reconnect all disconnected components. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear all DTCs. Go to POWER SEATS DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
