DTC C2120: TPM System Malfunction: Description
When Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) sensors detect vehicle speed of 10-15 mph, TPM sensors will enter powered up stage and begin to transmit identification code and tire pressure information from 0-62 psi (0-427 kPa) to the receiver. Receiver waits for first sensor to transmit information. When first sensor transmits its information 15 times, receiver verifies if all sensors have sent information. If no sensors transmit information, receiver will set DTC C2120.
DTC C2120 will set when vehicle completes a diagnostic cycle (driving for about 20 minutes at speeds greater than 15 mph) and no sensors have transmitted tire pressure information. When DTC C2120 sets, Driver's Information Center (DIC) will display SERVICE TIRE WARN SYS message and all tire pressure readings will be displayed as XXX kPa (XX psi).
DTC will clear when one or more TPM sensors transmit tire pressure information to the receiver before a diagnostic cycle is completed. History DTC will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present. Scan tool and DIC can also be used to manually clear DTC.
