Diagnostic Procedure

- Check BCM 2 fuse No. 23 (10-amp) for open. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is open, go to step 3 .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM connectors. Turn ignition on, engine off. Using a test light connected to ground, probe BCM connector C3 terminal A4 (Orange wire). If test light is off, go to next step. If test light is on, go to step 5 .
- Check Orange wire between instrument panel electrical center and BCM for open or short to ground. If problem was not found, go to next step. If problem was found, repair as necessary. After repairs, go to step 6 .
- Check steering column lock drive "A" and "B" circuits for short to ground. If problem was found, repair as necessary. After repairs, go to step 6 . If problem was not found, replace steering column lock motor. See under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 6 .
- Check BCM connectors for poor connections. If connectors are okay, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULES - CORVETTE article. After repairs, go to step 6 .
- Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Clear BCM steering column lock fail enable mode by removing BCM1 & IPC fuse No. 25 (10-amp) for 15 seconds. Operate system to ensure DTCs do not reset.
